    What are the problems to be solved–specifically? Looks to me like this is a project to find something to measure so that success can be declared and added to a resume or to show the media something positive about the system. In order to be measurable the objectives must be explicit and narrow.

      Hello Lyelle: Thank you for your concern about the specific problems to solve with the Charting the Future project. I think we need to do a better job of articulating the problems. I will share your concern with the engagement team to brainstorm option for that.

      In the meantime, you might consider looking at the six recommendations (http://chartingthefuturemnscu.wordpress.com/6-recommendations/) that came out of the 2012-13 work on Charting the Future. In addition, here is an outline of challenges we are facing in higher education: http://www.mnscu.edu/chartingthefuture/challenges.html.

      That said, each college/university offers best practices in certain areas that may offer solutions to some of the problems across the system. However, right not we don’t have a good process or incentive to share these ideas. Hopefully Charting the Future will assist in that sharing and defining/implementing of new options.
